Ahhh... My favorite angle of the bike. I'm pleased with how the taillamp turned out.
It still needs some fine-tuning fit & finish-wise, but its very cool that the stock
lamp fits where the tailcone used to go...just upside-down. Cut a hole for the license
plate light, and there we are. Now, where -is- that plate?

It also gives you an idea of how low the bars are now..its quite comfy,
actually, though I'd prefer the seat a couple inches lower. Actually sitting
on the bare framerails is juuust right - I'll have to work on that later.
It's way too quiet with the stock pipes, so until I find someone with an old Hindle
or Kerker system, I'll partially gut the cans... Can't wait to lose the stock system
- it must weigh at least 25 lbs.
Also undecided on the rear wheel. However, there's still some tread left,
so have I time to come up with a plan. Ideally, I'll find a pair of 17"
 CBR wheels (anyone??)
and mount some more modern & available rubber on them.
VF/VFR wisdom says 110/80ZR17 on the front and 140/80ZR17 on the rear. The
front is a virtually straight swap. The rear is more involved, and may highlight my need
to do something with the shock..if I care that much..
Really, the purpose of this bike was to have something to ride while the
Guzzi was down
for restoration. Besides, any self-respecting hooligan in the Santa Cruz Mountains
has to have a bike in the summertime.
